SIAKA SOPPO TRAORÉ
From 12am to 12pm
In Senegal, street performances are misunderstood, let alone recognized. So urban dancers lead a daily fight against prejudice by indulging in their passion. By drawing attention to these artists, Siaka Soppo Traoré wanted to change attitudes. As a dancer himself, he takes the time to meet his models, to observe their way of moving, to understand their style. It is thus a particular urban representation that Siaka Seppo Traoré stages, Dakar and its streets becoming the real and fantasized theater of the dancers.
Come and have your picture taken by Mamy Tall, in a “Senegalese” studio. Mamy Tall, is an artist who defines herself as such:
I studied architecture at the University of Montreal, and am very passionate aboutarts in general. I would say that I consider myself as an artist who refuses to reduce her universe to a single discipline. I am a trained architect and self taught on my other interests such as photography or videography. In addition, I am co-founder of the Dakarlives platform.
